Current News

Sunday November 16 2003

As some probably already know, we are in the process of creating the next version of IEKA, but we need your help! Anyone who has custom class templates and/or character names, please send them in to us via email: we_need_your_help@hawk.warp0.com. Follow the link below to check out what's new in IEKA!

The Project IEKA team at Hawk Networks has decided to release a features section regarding frequently asked questions not directly related to the Morrowind Character Profile Creator Program. Our first feature article is about levelling up in Morrowind.

Well we've finally done it. We are proud to release a well deserved update to IEKA. The most current version is now 1.1.4 and includes in particular, two features that took some work. IEKA now introduces its first true module (the 'fake' being the IEKA Character Assistant) automatic update checker and an Auto Pick system, where IEKA automatically selects skills based on your class. You can read more about it in the help section:

Whew! Three updates in three days, that's a record :) . Anyway, to all those who have been emailing us...STOP!...due to your constant demands Hawk Networks have decided to release the IEKA Character Assistant publicly. You can find it in our new Labs section.

For those who are 'on the inside circle', the production of the IEKA Character Assistant has been completed, apart from the information for each step. However Hawk Networks has decided to discontinue the production of the IEKA Character Assistant. It may be picked up later, and portions of it will most likely make it into future releases, especially the options panel.

A slight revision of IEKA is on the way along with the release of a new module. The new module is designed to automatically check for new versions of the program. These will be manually activated via a separate program. We toyed with the idea of automatic checking but some people had privacy concerns. All the images, of the birthsigns and the races, have also been cut out (removing the unsightly black backgrounds) and recoloured to the IEKA Blue Theme color.

The actual file size will also decrease by about 30kb. It's not much, but when you consider we have added a whole new program (which in itself is roughly 40kb) it is a reasonable achievement.

ModHost is now also providing a mirror for IEKA. I have added them to our download links section. The site also contains a description of the mod (nothing you haven't heard already in the Help section).

I have completed the first minor update to IEKA, it contains several user requested features and bug fixes. You can find out what this new version contains. There are also some more command line introduction since the last version - more about that here.

Well unfortunately I have the first update pack for IEKA that addresses several known issues, see what it includes here [ update eligibility closed ]. It also introduces an command that will tell you the version number which for some reason, many people have requested - I cannot understand why though because there was only one version at that time (although now there are two). There is more about that here

I've just been notified that FilePlanet has accepted my submission for IEKA, it is now up and running over there.

Friday May 2 2003

Well it's complete. I finally finished everythting today and it has been posted to two websites, one of which I am still waiting to hear from. It somehow managed to compress itself down to 494kb even though the original setup was over 2 megs. The download's already working at Euro-Morrowind whom I thank very much. If for some reason when you try it it does not work, let me know 'brokenlink@hawk.warp0.com'.

Oh, in case your wondering about the 'confirmed hosting at AngelFire' well consider it unconfirmed :).

Thursday May 1 2003

I have finally completed the user interface of the character creation programme. All that's now left to do is enter the descriptions of different races and attributes. There is also a new page addition to this website which I have included in the site map. It is the links page (or 'weblinks' as I have called it), and is designed for the programme to use not really for visitors of the website.

The hosting for the programme has been confirmed at AngelFire, although I still hope to post it at FilePlanet as well because of bandwidth issues. I may also decide to post it at Geocities and maybe even other Morrowind websites. I am reluctent to host it here, again because of bandwidth issues, as this is the main 'portal' and if this went down then we would be stuck.
